KOLKATA LITERARY MEET

In 2012, Gameplan launched the Kolkata Literary Meet, in the belief that a culturally-rich city such as Kolkata needed a festival celebrating literature and allied cultural pursuits, such as dance, music, recitation, cinema, and theatrical performances.

From the very first year, the lit meet has drawn some of the most premier authors and speakers from across India and the world – we have hosted eminent writers such as Vikram Seth, Paul Beatty, Imran Khan, Alessandro Baricco, Valerio Massimo Manfredi, Thomas Keneally, Amitav Ghosh, Gloria Steinem, Jhumpa Lahiri, Tash Aw, Javed Akhtar, Peter Godwin, Adrian Levy, Yann Martel and Mark Tully, among several others.

Kalam has become an integral part of the city’s annual cultural calendar, and the overwhelming response has encouraged us to spread our wings to Bhubaneswar, where we began the Bhubaneswar Literary Meet in 2016, and then to Jharkhand with the Jharkhand Literary Meet in 2017.

BOOK LAUNCHES

In addition to lit meets, Gameplan seeks to keep the literary fires burning throughout the year with numerous offsite events, primarily book launches. Among the notable authors who we have helped to launch their books are Amitav Ghosh, Shashi Tharoor, Jairam Ramesh, Sourav Ganguly, Kunal Basu, and numerous others.
