Tata Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz
In 2018, the Tata Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz marked one of Gameplan’s biggest groundbreaking achievements in sports. In its inaugural edition in 2018, TSCI was the first chess international super-tournament ever to be held in India. A total of 11 top-ranked players fought it out with GM Hikaru Nakamura winning the Rapid and GM Viswanathan Anand lifting the Blitz trophy.
Tata Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz has since become India’s foremost chess event and also the first to offer equal prize money in the open and women’s competition.
