TATA STEEL CHESS INDIA RAPID & BLITZ
The Tata Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz marks one of Gameplan’s biggest groundbreaking achievements in sports. In its first edition, TSCI 2018 was the first chess international super-tournament ever to be held in India. A total of 11 top-ranked players fought it out with GM Hikaru Nakamura winning the Rapid and GM Viswanathan Anand lifting the Blitz trophy.
In its second edition, TSCI became the first GCT event ever to be held in Asia when the event was held in Kolkata in November 2019. The field was significantly stronger and included no less than World Champion Magnus Carlsen and world number 2 Ding Liren, among others.
