In 2017, Gameplan launched the Jharkhand Literary Meet, because we felt Jharkhand needed a festival that would celebrate its rich, diverse yet underrepresented literature and culture. The idea was to take Jharkhand to a wider world audience, and also to bring the world to Jharkhand.

The lit meet has drawn premier authors and speakers from across India with eminent delegates such as Ruskin Bond, Uday Prakash, Harivansh Narayan Singh, Sharmila Tagore, Mark Tully, Jairam Ramesh, Devdutt Pattanaik, Mahadev Toppo and Rekha Bhardwaj being hosted.

This lit meet has become an integral part of Jharkhand’s annual cultural calendar. The overwhelming response encourages us keep our emphasis on a consistently high quality of participants, and an inherent connection with the local cultural ethos.
